Unknown Flower 2005

This is Colby posing in front of a few tulips and something similiar to Lily-of-the-Valley. Perhaps it's a variation. I don't know and my Mother planted it. If I remember, I'll ask her when I get to heaven :)

Along the Garage 2006

Jack Manni Clematis, 2006
I only got one bloom on this plant, but it's better than none!
The Red & Orange flower is a 'Arizona Sun' Gaillarda Blanket Flower. The spikey green plant is a 'Christoffer' Glamini. (dwarf Gladiolus)
Those are 'Pearl Deep Blue' Carpathian Bellflowers in the back and the yellow is 'Early Sunrise' Coreopsis. The purple flowers in the front center are 'Sentimental Blue' Balloon Flowers. The spikey looking purple flowers are either Speedwell or Salvia. I'm not able to tell the difference.

I did the edging and mulching in 2006 and I'm very happy with the final result.

Coneflowers 2006

Among the mix of weeds are Purple & White Coneflowers

Purple Coneflowers, Summer, 2006

Purple Coneflowers and yellow lilies.

I planted these coneflowers. This is year two for them. These are on the corner of the strip of garden behind the garage. They surround the Tiger Lily's. (Summer, 2006)

Hibiscus (Lord Baltimore) 2006

This beauty is quite the eye catcher. It was planted by my mother sometime during the past 9 years. The date is unknown. This grows new every year to about 5 to 6 feet tall. The blooms are the size of a hand or bigger and they only last one day. However, we get well over 20 blooms per year so for about a month there's alway a least one bloom on the the plant.

Pink Aster

This plant and the Butterfly bush next to it are the monsters in my garden. No matter that I cut it down to the ground in the Springs, it grows so much that it actually ends up with a large whole in the center because it's all bent over. You are able to look right down into the belly of the beast. It's probably around 8 or 9 years old. That's my guess. My Mother planted this one.

Rose of Sharon Tree, 2006

We have 2 Rose of Sharon Trees. When we moved in they were along side the front porch, and much smaller than they are now. My Mom dug them up and transplanted them to the burm. To our dismay they took and actually flourished in their new homes. One appears to be more lavendar in color and the other is pink. One also blooms fuller than the other. But both look beautiful and when in full bloom, we get a lot of comments from people asking us what type of tree they are.

Lilirope

This is also known as 'Lily's Turf'. (Mixed in are yellow Coreopsis flowers) My Mom planted these on each side of the grave of my cockatook "Newton" (named after Wayne Newton though, as we found out later when the eggs started being laid, that he was a she!)

Peach Hibiscus 2006

Peach Hibiscus. Just planted these new last summer, hope they are hardy and take. I will find out this summer.

Back Fence

(Early Summer) green Sedum, Lilirope that gets over shadowed on both sides and a very short butterfly bush. The short purplish plant in the front is a 'Purple Emperor' Stonecrop, though it never did flower. To the right of that is a Mixed Hen and Chicks Sempervivum.
Mid to Late Summer, 2006

This is the south fence of our yard. That's the neighbors ass ugly fence which I hope to someday turn down. From left to right there are my Mom's burgundy mums, sedum, white butterfly bush, pink aster and below that are new peach hibiscus I just planted to inhance my mother's garden. (early Summer 2006)

Burgundy Mums

Though on July 1st I cut back my mums by 1/2, they still become monsters. However, on this one by July 1st there were already buds so I didn't cut it back because of that reason and I figured it was short on stature so there was no need. Boy was I wrong!
